Amanda Roberts helped establish Roberts Tax and Retirement Planning in 2009 along with her husband, David Roberts, while she was raising their family. In fact, she credits him with “drawing her back in” to the financial services industry now that their kids are grown. Previously in her career, she had spent time working for a financial advisor at Waddell and Reed, as well as working for another independent financial advisory firm in Arizona processing applications and providing customer service. Those experiences allowed her to deeply understand client concerns, and facilitate close client relationships.

“I absolutely love our business, and our clients. People often say they like our honesty, and the fact that we have a very personal touch. We’re not just conducting business transactions here—we are working hard to benefit people’s lives and help them achieve their long-term goals. We will help our clients in absolutely any way possible,” Amanda says.
“We are a veteran-owned company. Having served in the Army, I am extremely efficient and organized, and I work closely with the rest of our knowledge-based team to help deliver positive client results,” she says. “We provide a more complete, holistic approach than most other financial advisory firms. By including tax planning and tax return preparation in the mix of services we provide, we can give our clients more control over every aspect of their finances.”
Amanda was born and raised in Oregon and got her first degree in apparel design from the Art Institute of Portland. She subsequently earned bachelor’s degrees in communications and speech pathology from Utah State. Amanda met David when she was serving in the Army as a combat engineer and administrative instructor. David was one of multiple soldiers she trained as they were being deployed; their friendship progressed into a romance, and they ultimately married.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys the three rescue dogs they adopted, occasionally getting involved in projects with a local animal rescue shelter. She hosts family gatherings with their four grown children and their (first) granddaughter.
